Sunderland fans have tipped Jay Matete for a 'big future' after he joined League One leaders Plymouth Argyle on loan until the end of the season.
Matete has received limited playing time at the Stadium of Light this term, after starring in 16 games as the Black Cats achieved promotion to the Championship via the League One play-offs.
The 21-year-old, who joined Sunderland from Fleetwood Town in January 2022, is expected to be available for selection when Plymouth travel to Bolton Wanderers tomorrow afternoon.
He has been reduced to just one start in the Championship this term, but supporters are confident that he will return to fight for his place next season.
