The event aims to further bolster Biden’s financial advantage over former President Donald Trump, as confirmed by a Biden campaign official.
The fundraiser will feature a contest for supporters, with Clooney and Roberts, known for their roles in 'Ocean’s Eleven' and other films together, actively participating in social media posts and digital ads to promote Biden’s campaign.
Obama, who has already lent his support to Biden by participating in a fundraiser alongside former President Bill Clinton in March, is expected to increase his campaign efforts as the election draws near.
During Biden’s recent West Coast swing, the campaign raised an impressive $10 million in just 24 hours through four fundraisers held in the Bay Area and Seattle. The fundraising figures for last month are set to be released in the coming week.
Biden’s substantial cash advantage over Trump has been a significant asset for his campaign, with the latest filings from March showing Biden having nearly double the amount of funds compared to Trump. This financial edge has allowed Biden to invest in television ads, staffing in battleground states, and campaign travel.
While Trump’s fundraising efforts have gained momentum since securing the GOP nomination, with record-breaking amounts raised at individual events, including a notable $50.5 million at an April fundraiser in Florida. Trump’s advisors recently disclosed that he amassed $76 million in April alone.
