JAIPUR: In what is being seen as a move to pre-empt any change of guard before the assembly elections, Rajasthan chief minister Ashok Gehlot has given directions to convene the budget session of state assembly in January, instead of February when it is usually scheduled.
With the assembly in session, a reshuffle at the top is unlikely and the budget will give the CM an opportunity to announce schemes to woo voters. The session is likely to end in March and the assembly polls are due in December 2023.
