BATHINDA: From candle light marches to lighting diyas outside homes, marathons, cycle rallies, two state level functions, a massive rally by farmer organisation, all this has been planned at the 115th birth anniversary of freedom fighter Bhagat Singh on Wednesday, September 28.
This is for the first time in decades that the birth anniversary of "People's Hero" is being observed at such a massive scale in Punjab. After Aam Aadmi Party had gained power, it has given much credence to Bhagat Singh, a youth icon and now all the district administrations are leaving no stone unturned to observe the day in a big way. Apart from it, the Union government too is contributing in it by announcing to rename Chandigarh Airport after Bhagat Singh.
