Beyonce unveiled as British Vogue cover star as she confirms new album, Renaissance

Beyoncé has been unveiled as the latest cover of British Vogue after the songstress announced news of her upcoming album.

The 40-year-old icon looked incredible as she posed for the July cover of the magazine and chatted to British Vogue’s Editor in Chief, Edward Enninful.

Directed by Rafael Pavarotti, Beyoncé’s British Vogue shoot featured the mum-of-three sitting on a horse and a motorbike in the edgy “fashion fantasia” shoot.

Reflecting upon the striking cover shoot, Enninful revealed that the singer’s husband Jay-Z and kids even came to visit her on set as they worked on creating the magazine cover.

He explained: “Beyoncé Knowles-Carter, a writer of excellent and lengthy texts, had taken to messaging me as we brainstormed the direction of her Vogue shoot together. A fashion fantasia spun from the tropes of club life during the last century’s final quarter.”

Enninful, who is also the European editor director of Vogue then joined the Lemonade star at her lavish home for an intimate interview about her upcoming work.

News of Beyoncé’s British Vogue cover comes shortly after the star revealed that her comeback album was on its way.

Beyoncé’s seventh studio album, Renaissance, is due to be released on July 29. A number of music streaming platforms have confirmed the news and shared an image named, ‘Act i, Renaissance’. The title suggests that the project could include more parts.

Enninful also commented on Beyoncé’s latest music, explaining, “New music is coming - a thrilling abundance of it.

“The creation has been a long process, she explains, with the pandemic giving her far longer to spend thinking and rethinking every decision. Just the way she likes it,” he added.

In recent years, the hitmaker has been hard at work in the music studio where she’s been creating an array of new music.

In 2016, she released her critically acclaimed album Lemonade. Two years later, she dropped a joint record called Everything Is Love with her husband Jay-Z. At the end of 2021, she also released a new track called ‘Be Alive’, which was featured in the King Richard film.

Speaking to Harper’s Bazaar last year about her latest recording project, the star explained: “I feel a renaissance emerging, and I want to be part of nurturing that escape in any way possible. I’ve been in the studio for a year and a half.”#
