It’s almost as if Christmas has come early for fans of mother Beyoncé, as Netflix makes the surprising announcement that she will be performing in a American football halftime show on Christmas Day.
Days after the streaming giant copped a tonne of heat for the lack of spectacle in the long-anticipated Jake Paul v Mike Tyson fight, Netflix has made an announcement that is bound to be appreciated by streamers worldwide.
Somehow, Beyoncé has been booked to perform at an NFL match on Christmas Day between the Houston Texans and Baltimore Ravens, at the NRG Stadium in the artist’s hometown of Houston.
Presumably these teams have been extra well-behaved this year, and this is Santa’s special reward. By the same logic, I also assume that naughty children/NFL teams will find performances from Imagine Dragons in their stockings this year.
However, it’s not just the lucky teams and fans at the stadium who will get to watch the Cowboy Carter artist perform. As announced by Netflix on its social media today, the entire show will be viewable to users of the streaming platform.
“BEYONCÉ. NFL Halftime Show – Ravens vs Texans. Christmas Day on Netflix,” read the cryptic post.

The superstar herself also confirmed the performance in a post of her own, which featured a shot of her standing atop a rose-adorned car while her song ‘AMERIICAN REQUIEM’ plays.
In the short clip Queen B catches an American football, while sporting in a short red, white, and blue long-sleeve minidress and white cowgirl hat.
“HOUSTON, TEXAS – 12.25.24,” says the post.

Naturally the announcement recieved plenty of fanfare from her fans, including one fan who commented: “THANK YOU SANTA.”

Sorry, did I say fan? I meant Netflix commented that, because we live in a world where the only marketing marketing strategy used by billion dollar companies is chaos posting.
Anyway, here’s when to tune in!
When to watch Beyoncé perform at the NFL halftime show on Christmas
As announced by Netflix, the broadcast of the game itself will begin at ET 4:30 PM, December 25.
For you Australians, that’s AEDT 8:30 AM on December 26. AKA, the perfect time to wake up and watch some footy on the TV. Otherwise the only things to watch are the Boxing Day cricket test, or the Sydney to Hobart. So your non-sporting options are rather limited.
As for when Beyoncé herself will take the stage? Given that American football matches tend to last four hours, I’d say about two hours after the game begins would be a good time to tune in, if you are only watching for the Beyoncé performance.
But I can’t imagine anyone would be doing that now, would they?
