Beyoncé and Jay-Z have been brutally roasted by fans after paying $200 million in cash for a "concrete-looking" mansion which some say looks like a "prison".
Fans aren't impressed with the power couple's latest purchase – which happens to be the most expensive home to ever sell in California.
The 41-year-old singer and the 53-year-old rapper who have been married since 2008, bought a $200 million home in Malibu, with them buying the property in cash – and fans have been left with their jaws on the floor.
With views of the Pacific Ocean and the property itself designed by renowned Japanese architect Tadao Ando, the mansion is massive and comes in at 30,000 square feet.
The property, pictures of which have been shared by Forbes, took a reported 15 years to finish building, with the modern-looking mansion completed almost a decade ago in 2014.
But fans are less than impressed with the exterior of the home, with many criticising its concrete shell and rigid design – and others likening it to either a prison or a factory.
Fans of the duo have taken to Twitter to air their opinions on the lavish new home, with one person writing: "It looks like a dang prison." A second then echoed: "Looks like a fancy prison."
While a third person penned: " Jay Z and Beyoncé's new house (the most expensive home purchased in California history for $200 million) looks like a factory."
"Looks like a warehouse in an industrial park," added a fourth on the social media platform, while a fifth person joked: "All the charm of an empty Costco distribution centre."
And a sixth added: "I’ve been in a house designed Tadao Ando, the architect who designed the $200 million house Jay and Beyoncé just bought. It’s sleek and beautiful for a while then all of that concrete starts to feel very sterile and inhuman."
Beyoncé and Jay-Z, who are now preparing to move into their new home, first met in 2000 but did not begin dating until 2001.
On April 4, 2008 the couple wed in secret, with their relationship standing the test of time, despite Jay Z cheating on Beyoncé which he admitted to in 2017.
The loved up couple have welcomed three children throughout their marriage: Blue Ivy born in 2012, and twins Sir and Rumi born in 2017.
