Bexley stabbing: Man in court charged with attempted murder as woman fights for life

A man has appeared in court charged with attempted murder after a woman was stabbed in south-east London.

The victim, aged in her 30s, is fighting for her life in hospital after being stabbed on residential Penhill Road in Bexley on January 16.

Tony Curant, 33, of Penhill Road, appeared at Bromley Magistrates' Court on Monday and was remanded to appear at the Old Bailey on February 5.

Curant was arrested on January 20 following the violence.

The woman remains in hospital in a critical condition, Metropolitan Police said on Monday.
