In a shocking incident of religious discrimination, a Rabbi's home in Beverly Hills was targeted for surveillance and harassment. The Rabbi, Levi Eluli, had been hosting small prayer groups at his residence, providing a place of worship for neighbors and friends, including a Holocaust survivor who couldn't attend a regular synagogue due to being housebound.
However, what should have been a heartwarming gesture of communal support quickly turned into a nightmare for Rabbi Eluli and his guests. They faced a barrage of parking citations selectively issued by the city, while neighbors slashed their tires and engaged in a campaign of intimidation. To make matters worse, the city invoked a noise ordinance to shut down the religious gatherings, an excuse that many find disingenuous.
