'Better than Lacazette' - Bold Eddie Nketiah claim made after what happened in Chelsea v Arsenal

Arsenal fans have hailed Eddie Nketiah after he scored the opening goal against Chelsea on Wednesday night.

The north London outfit broke the deadlock at Stamford Bridge in the 13th minute after Nketiah capitalised on a mistake from Danish defender Andreas Christensen. The Hale End academy graduate pressed high before finishing past Edouard Mendy to give the away side the lead.

However, the Blues quickly hit back through Timo Werner, with the German international's deflected shot wrongfooting Aaron Ramsdale in the Gunners' goal. Still, a number of Arsenal fans took to social media to heap praise on Nketiah's finish.

A number of supporters went as far as to say that the former England Under-21 international is better than fellow frontman Alexandre Lacazette, who found himself on the bench for the match in west London. Here is what a select few said on Twitter.

@HaleEndFinesse: "LACA WOULD HAVE MISSED THAT."

@Afc_Mxth: "NAHHHH NO WAY. NKETIAH HE'S SO MUCH BETTER THAN LACAZETTE."

@Ashu_Parajuli97: "Punishing the mistake they made. But we are also making too many careless mistakes in our half so gotta pray they don't capitalize."

@Jariv01: "Lacazette would have definately missed it. Good goal that just need to hold onto it #Yagunnersya."

@Real_Tmo35: "Better than Lacazette ever will be."

@DecortTz: "100% has to play from now on over Lacazette. would be criminal not too."

@MataGooner: "Laca would’ve punted that straight into the keeper. Start Nketiah over Laca from now on."

@ShaneM19__: "His pressing pays off."
