Chelsea have reached an agreement with Benfica over the club-record signing of Enzo Fernandez. The midfielder will become the most expensive transfer in Premier League history with a deal worth in excess of £105million.
The breakthrough comes after 24 hours of extensive talks between the two clubs. The structure of the payments were said to be a stumbling block in negotiations but Behdad Eghbali is said to have conducted tense negotiations to complete the deal.
Fernandez will be the Blues' eighth addition of the January transfer window and will join Benoit Badiashile, Mykhailo Mudryk, Noni Madueke and Joao Felix in Graham Potter's first-team squad.
