A mattress is a major investment, and a Saatva mattress is more major than most. Outside of sales season, you should expect to spend upwards of $2,000 to get a Saatva mattress in a Queen size. Still, when you take advantage of Saatva's mattress deals, you can save hundreds on some of America's best-loved beds. As we get closer to Black Friday, I'm starting to see $400 discounts across the Saatva site, up from $300 last week.
Before I started as H&G's resident Sleep Editor, I was a price tracker. I spent eight hours a day crawling the sites of major mattress merchants, monitoring their prices. I learned how to shop the mattress sales to get the lowest prices on the best beds, so I'm perfectly placed to bring you my edit of today's best Saatva deals.
In my current role, I lead a team of expert testers in the search to find the world's best mattress. We assess each mattress against the same criteria: pressure relief; thermoregulation; motion isolation; and edge support. Over the years, we've ranked and reviewed more than 30 mattresses, 4 of which are from Saatva, and they get top scores across the board. Still, particular mattress types are better suited to certain sleepers. I can help you decide which Saatva mattress is best for you and show you how to get it at the lowest possible price.

I've also included information about the best time to buy a Saatva mattress, based on my year's experience as a shopping correspondent.

My favorite Saatva mattresses
For sheer breadth of choice, Saatva is one of the best places to buy a mattress. You can shop everything from responsive latex models to luxury innersprings. Whichever bed you buy, you're protected by a lifetime mattress warranty, as well as a 365-night mattress sleep trial.
Sizes: Twin, Twin XL, Full, Queen, King, Split King, California King, Split California King
Type: Innerspring
Firmness: Plush Soft, Luxury Firm, Firm
+ Excellent edge support
+ Custom comfort
- Motion transfer is a little lacking
Together, our team of expert testers has ranked and reviewed more than 30 mattresses, and we all agree that the Saatva Classic Mattress is the best, with consistently high scores for pressure relief, edge support, and thermoregulation. Available in Plush Soft, Luxury Firm, and Firm, you can shop for the surface tension that suits you: our expert tester, Jaclyn, found the best balance of comfort and support from the Luxury Firm mattress. The edge support is excellent, so it's comfortable to sit on the side of the bed to tie your shoes or nurse a baby. As a luxury innerspring, the Saatva Classic sleeps cooler than the Contour5, which is made from memory foam, but not quite as cool as the Latex Hybrid or the Zenhaven. Also, the motion isolation is a little lacking, but that's because of the springs: for minimal motion transfer, you want the Saatva Contour5.

Sizes: Twin, Twin XL, Full, Queen, King, California King, Split King, Split California King
Type: Latex hybrid
Firmness: Medium
+ Supple and springy
+ Highly breathable
- Lack of edge support
The Saatva Latex Hybrid Mattress appears in multiple H&G mattress buying guides, and with good reason. For its breathable latex core and moisture-wicking wool, it's one of the best cooling mattresses. Filled with natural and recycled materials and made to order in the USA, it's up there with the best organic mattresses. For comfort and support, our expert tester Alex Frost could hardly fault it: 'I need something softer, but still supportive, to maintain the natural alignment of my spine, and the Saatva Latex Hybrid Mattress fits the bill.' There's just one problem: the lack of edge support. When Alex tried to sit on the side of the bed, she had to brace herself against the ground to keep from falling off. This would make it much harder for stomach sleepers to lie at the edge of the Saatva Latex Hybrid.

Sizes: Twin, Twin XL, Full, Queen, King, California King, Split King
Type: Memory foam
Firmness: Medium-firm
+ Outstanding motion isolation
+ Cooling comfort
- Very expensive for memory foam
The Contour5 is the newest addition to the Saatva line-up, intended as an improvement upon their Loom & Leaf, a gel memory foam mattress for hot sleepers and people in need of pressure relief. Our expert tester, Alex Frost, slept on the Saatva Contour5 Mattress this summer and she still raves about the motion isolation: 'If your partner tends to toss and turn in the night, then this memory foam mattress is a great option to prevent a sleep divorce.' The only problem is the price. Even with a discount of a few hundred dollars, a Queen-sized Saatva Contour5 Mattress will still set you back more than $2,000. 'Then again, you get what you pay for,' says Alex. 'The Saatva Contour5 Mattress far outpaces other memory foam models we've tested, especially when it comes to cooling and edge support.'

When to shop for Saatva deals
There's an old adage that mattresses are always on sale. There's some truth to it, but certain times of year offer deeper discounts than others. Here's what you need to know about the best time to buy a mattress at the lowest possible price.
Black Friday and Cyber Monday Saatva deals
Usually, Saatva runs a Black Friday Sneak Peek weekend at the start of November. You can expect to save $200 on more affordable models, such as the Saatva Memory Foam Hybrid Mattress, and $300 on more expensive models, such as the Saatva HD. Fair warning: you might find that you can only see the discount once you've added a mattress to cart.
The week before Black Friday, Saatva offers Early Access deals. I wouldn't rush to shop these, since you tend to see prices fall a little further on the big day. If you want to shop over the weekend between Black Friday and Cyber Monday, the sale is usually extended for as long as stocks last. The Cyber Monday price is often just as good as the Black Friday price, and I often find it runs through Cyber Week, like a 'last call'.
After-Christmas Saatva deals
If you don't get around to shopping at Saatva over Black Friday, you should be able to pick up a discount in the after-Christmas sales. In my experience, the price is never quite as good as it was over Black Friday, but the difference is negligible: there might be $50 or $100 between the deals.
Federal holidays
I always say that the best time to buy a mattress is over a holiday weekend. That's when mattress stores compete to offer the lowest prices. Saatva always makes a big deal out of Labor Day: this year, I saw pre-rush sales for the two weeks preceding the big day. Labor Day turned into Labor Week, with five days of discounts, and a Last Call sale over that weekend.
Amazon Prime Day Saatva deals
Saatva doesn't sell through Amazon, so you won't be able to shop a Saatva mattress as part of the Amazon Prime Day sales.
How we source the best Saatva deals
To compile this Saatva deals page, I've spoken with my mattress testing team to consider our long-term, at-home testing experience. Where we haven't been able to get our hands on a Saatva mattress, we've scoured the specifications and read countless customer reviews to give you the most accurate indication of how it feels and who it suits.
I've spent hours shopping the Saatva site to bring you the most up-to-date information on pricing. As a shopping writer, I like a good bargain, but I'll never compromise quality for cost. That's why I include links to our full-length reviews to help you see past the sales and learn more about a particular mattress.
FAQs
Which Saatva mattress is best for back pain?
The Saatva Contour5 Mattress is best for back pain. The plush pillow-top is designed to cushion your neck and shoulders, taking the weight off your pressure points, while the high-density memory foam core supports your spine. 'When I woke up after my first night on the Saatva Contour5 Mattress, I was pleasantly surprised to discover that my typically achy back and joints were a little less agitated,' says expert tester Alex Frost.
Which Saatva mattress is best for side sleepers?
The Saatva Latex Hybrid Mattress is best for side sleepers. The top layer of Talalay latex is soft enough to cushion your hips, knees, and shoulders, while the supportive steel springs are strong enough to stop your pelvis from sinking and keep your spine straight.
You'll find a Saatva mattress in almost every one of our bedding buying guides. They get top scores across the board for comfort, cooling, and cost. Yes, a Saatva mattress is more expensive than the best affordable mattress, but you get what you pay for: white glove delivery; superior eco-credentials; and quality comfort that extends right around the edges.
To get a sense of what it might be like to sleep on a Saatva mattress, I suggest you read the customer reviews. Don't be taken in by a few five-star ratings, and don't be put off by the odd negative review, either: you want to get the fullest possible picture. If you want to try a Saatva mattress for yourself, you could visit one of the Saatva viewing rooms across the country. Before you go, it's worth learning how to test a mattress to make sure it's right for you.
If you're still not sold on Saatva, but you know you need a new mattress, then it's time to expand your search. I suggest you shop my edit of the best DreamCloud mattress deals, instead. DreamCloud is a close competitor to Saatva, and as a box mattress brand, their beds are far more affordable. I've weighed up all the pros and cons of Saatva vs DreamCloud for comfort, cooling and cost.
