Best-paying 'flexible' jobs that pay up to £70,000 a year – see full list

Some jobs which offer flexible schedules offer a big paycheck with some offering a salary of up to £70,000.

Flexible working can have a variety of different meanings and can include - flexible start and finishing times, part-time work, compressed hours, working from home, and job sharing.

Since the Covid-19 pandemic, the number of jobs offering a flexible working arrangement has increased.

A lot of companies now allow their staff more work from home days rather than having to be in the office five days a week - and some offer their staff a lot more.

According to data from the job site Adzuna, in April 2023 some of the best-paying flexible jobs offer salaries that top £70,000 a year.

Of the top 20 best paying flexible roles, Java developers, vet surgeons and data scientists were the top three the average salary being £75,389, £60,199, and £59,366 respectively.

All three of these roles usually require specialist training and a university degree.

However, not all of the roles on the list require a degree.

HR managers, travel agents, and customer support assistant roles feature on the list and often don't require a degree.

In April 2023, these roles have an average salary of £40,778, £33,559, and £29,900 respectively according to Adzuna.

Andrew Hunter, co-founder of Adzuna said the rise in flexible working arrangements will help job hunters have a "greater say" over their working lives which allows them to have a better work-life balance.

He said: “Flexible working arrangement comes in many different forms nowadays, from flexible start and finish times, part-time work, compressed hours, working from home, to job sharing.

"Employees, regardless of their job sector and seniority, have a much greater say over when, where and how they work.

"As the new flexible working bill is currently going through the House of Lords, employees will soon be able to request flexible working arrangements on day one.”
