Summer is finally here – don’t we know it? – which signals barbies in the garden, holidays in the sun, and hikes in the country (for some).
For those who like to get out and about, the season offers less mud, clear skies and warm temperatures. Better still, autumn will soon be on the horizon, which many consider the sweet spot for hikers – not the searing heat of summer, but not the cold and rain of winter. The best bit about the whole thing is that it’s completely and utterly free. During a cost-of-living crisis, we could all do with an activity that doesn’t cost the earth, right?
