It’s hard to pin down exactly who popularised clothing for pets, but we’d like to think that Paris Hilton’s designer Chihuahua, Tinkerbell, made some significant moves for the industry back in ’00. In fact, the heiress, DJ and all-round businesswoman (Paris, not Tinkerbell) even went on to design her own clothing line for dogs in 2009.
With the revival of all things Nineties and Noughties, the trend is back once again. It’s important to note, however, that while incredibly chic and adorable, fashion for dogs also serves a practical purpose in the winter months.
