Best designer discounts in the Selfridges sale on handbags, clothing and more

Black Friday fever has begun to grip the country.

You can’t turn on the radio, watch TV or stream online without mention of the shopping event, which this year will start on November 29

It’s easy to see why. The enduring squeeze on personal finances coupled with the upcoming festive shopping period means the UK has never been more ravenous for a bargain. While the Black Friday sale will offer all the usual deals on white goods, TVs, laptops, coffee machines, beauty, booze, furniture and fashion, if you’re looking for a proper steal, zone in on designer discounts.

High-end goods with price tags so heavy they practically clang are also in the bargain bonanza mix too - good news if you’re into a a particular label. Whether you fancy a treat for yourself or plan to knock the socks off a loved one this Christmas (but don’t want to bankrupt yourself in the process), your savings ship has come in.

Any Londoner worth their plastic knows that Selfridges is a top destination for doing a spot of luxury window shopping. The world-famous department store has long been the place to pick up luxury labels from British designers and beyond. It’s known to throw a seasonal sale too, bringing sky-high prices into the realm of affordability, so if you’ve been saving up, your moment of glory is around the corner.

There are hundreds of designer goods on sale at Selfridges right now, from beautifully crafted handbags and purses to full-on couture gowns that will make jaws drop at any festive party in your diary.

To help and to show you exactly what’s on offer, we’ve done the honours and spotlighted some of the best deals available right now.

SAMSUNG 2023 32-inch The Frame Art Mode Smart TV

The much-hyped Samsung The Frame TV is one of the best art-inspired TVs available. Not only does it genuinely look like a gallery-installed artwork, but it performs impressively too. With detail-crisp 4K resolution, The Frame brings artwork to life in stunning, realistic technicolour. It does so by utilising QLED technology - a backlighting system similar to traditional LED, but with a quantum dot layer to enhance colour and brightness.

Aesthetically the 32-inch screen looks fantastic; when mounted, the chunky art bezels seamlessly blend with the wall, leaving no unsightly gaps. Handily, it also has a single-cable design, so there are no pesky wires to deal with, although getting the TV mounted on the wall does involve some rental-unfriendly drilling. We also appreciated the ingenious anti-reflective matte screen, which minimises distracting glare from overhead lights.

To access artwork, you will need to take out an extra £3.99 subscription to Samsung’s art store, where you can choose between thousands of great quality artworks from the best galleries around the world. It’s considerably more expensive than other 4K QLED TVs of this size, so it’s by no means the best value for money TV. However, if you’re looking for a stylish set that will elevate your living room, this is a real winner.
