
Natural mineral formations from deep within the earth have long been considered vessels for a higher spiritual power.
William Blake said it best in Auguries of Innocence. The poem’s iconic opening lines can be interpreted in myriad ways, but in the context of holistic practices and spirituality, they help to illustrate the otherworldly, grounding and humbling nature of gemstones and crystals. Blake writes, “To see a World in a Grain of Sand /And a Heaven in a Wild Flower” – but budding spiritualists might conjure up their own imagined line, “To see Inner Peace in a Tourmaline Tower.”
