Whether you're planning a first date or looking for a fun night out with your after half, trying to come up with unique ideas for date night can be tricky.
An evening in the pub can be a classic - but if you're both fans of beer, there are actually plenty of fun and memorable dates you can enjoy.
We're not just talking having a pint somewhere different; we're talking brewery tours, beer festivals, and even beer yoga if you're feeling adventurous.
To give you a helping hand we've put together a guide to some of the best beer-themed date nights worth having on your radar.
Got an idea of your own? Let us know in the comments below.
Brewery tours
A brewery tour can be a great first date; it's an activity, it gives you something to talk about AND of course you can enjoy a few drinks together afterwards.
The UK is home to a whole host of brilliant breweries - we've picked out our favourite ones here - with fascinating history, unusual beers and epic on-site eateries.
Beer yoga
Think you can balance a beer can while doing yoga moves? Well then, prove it!
There are plenty of beer yoga classes you can sign up to, but if you're both already yoga fans then there are some easy moves you can try at home.
Work for Your Beer has plenty of brilliant suggestions, but some of our favourites include:
- Downward drinking dog pose: like the normal downward-facing dog pose but with beer below your face. See if you can drink your beer (although you may need a straw!).
- Extended swing-angle pose: bend on your side into a triangle pose, and open your heart to the ceiling while to you take a swig of beer.
- Hold my drink pose: sit down and put your legs on the ground in front of you, put one leg over the other and put that foot on the floor. With your cup in hand, then balance your elbow on your knee.
Beer festivals
Live music, beers, and great food - what else could you want for a memorable date?
We've already done the leg work for you with our top pick of the best UK beer festivals whether you're after a day out in the sunshine, or looking for a weekend away with a spot of camping.
Beer themed games at home
If you're trying to save money or simply just fancy a night in, there are some light hearted games you can play (and you can just use booze leftover in your house).
For example you could host your own beer tasting, put your knowledge to the test with a beer quiz, or even play a 'can you guess the beer' game.
For the latter, all you need is two glasses and five different types of beer, a blindfold, a piece of paper and a pen to keep score.
Playing the game is simple: one person dons the blindfold (you can take turns) and the other one pours some beer out into one of the glasses.
The blindfolded person, you guessed it, then take a sip out of the glass and has to try and guess which beer they've just ingested - whether it’s a pale ale, IPA, lager, bitter or rye blonde.
Keep score - the person who guessed correctly the most wins!
