Bernardo Silva is living with Man City teammate Joao Cancelo amid Barcelona transfer interest

Joao Cancelo has revealed that Man City teammate Bernardo Silva is living with him as Barcelona eye up a move for the Portuguese midfielder.

Silva's future at the club has been uncertain all summer as Pep Guardiola's former club, Barcelona, try to bring the player to Spain. The City manager himself has admitted that he is unsure what will happen regarding the player's future with less than two weeks left in the transfer window.

It is believed that the club are not willing to let Silva leave this transfer window unless Barcelona submit an offer in the region of £80million. Although the La Liga giants have agreed wage deferrals with numerous players, they have spent heavily this transfer window with the additions of Robert Lewandowski, Raphinha, Andreas Christensen, Franck Kessie and Jules Kounde.

City will therefore be in no mood for the Spanish club to try and negotiate a lower fee after seeing how heavily they have already spent this window. With all the transfer speculation surrounding Silva's future, it is the recent comments from his compatriot Cancelo that have revealed the close friendship the pair have.

Speaking to Portuguese outlet Eleven Sports (via Sports Witness), Cancelo said: "Bernardo is now living with me in my house. As long as my girlfriend isn’t here, we’re living together.

"Bernardo Silva and I have a relationship for a long time, we are from the same generation at Benfica, we have a very beautiful friendship because we are two completely opposite people and I think that’s the funny thing.

"He’s a typical person from Lisbon and I’m just that guy who practically came from the street.”
