The family of four people stabbed to death in Bermondsey have paid moving tribute to their loved ones as they raise money for funeral arrangements.
Juleth Hutchinson, 62, paid tribute to her brother, Denton Burke, and his partner, her daughter and granddaughter on a GoFundMe page raising money to give them “a ceremony they deserve”.
A man, Joshua Jacques, 28, has been charged with the murder of all four family members on Delaford Road in Bermondsey after the incident last month.
Ms Hutchinson remembered her brother as “fun-loving and warm-hearted kind man whose laughter would bring joy to anyone in his presence.”
She said: “Denton was a family man; he was a father, husband, brother, uncle and friend. The amount of laughter and happy memories that we all shared will be cherished forever”.
Denton’s partner of over 15 years, NHS worker Dolet Hill, was “a strong pillar of the family and always welcomed everyone with an open heart,” said Ms Hutchinson in tribute.
She added: “Dolet worked at the NHS for over 20 years and was a woman with impeccable strength that she extended her love of helping others to her many charity ventures”.
Ms Hill’s daughter, Tanysha Ofori-Akuffo, 45, and her daughter, Samantha Drummonds, 27, also lost their lives.
Paying tribute to them both, Ms Hutchinson said: “They were both loved by their many friends and family. Tanysha, was a nurse who extended her hand to help those in need.
“Furthermore, she supported her mother Dolet in her charity ventures. Also, Tanysha was a doting wife, caring mother and a great friend.
“Her daughter Samantha was an upbeat, fun-loving, bubbly young lady who adored her grandmother Dolet, and they had a beautiful relationship”.
Family now hope to raise £40,000 towards funeral arrangements for their four loved ones.
An appeal, which launched last week, has raised more than £8,000, with hundreds of people donating.
“The memories of Dolet, Denton, Tanysha and Samantha will be forever in our hearts,” states the appeal.
“We ask for your help, however big or small, to support the families to lay them to rest and give them a ceremony they deserve.”
