Chelsea are closing in on their second signing of the January transfer window after agreeing a €38million (£33.6million) deal with AS Monaco for centre-back Benoit Badiashile.
football.london understands that the France international will sign a six-and-a-half deal with Graham Potter's side and joins David Datro Fofana through the door in the early stages of the January transfer window.
RB Leipzig defender Josko Gvardiol is said to have already agreed personal terms with the Blues, but it seems a move for Badiashile is set to rule out a move for the Croatian.

Medical completed
Chelsea are one step closer to completing the signing of defender Benoit Badiashile following reports he has completed his medical.
He was due to undergo the process in London after agreeing personal terms over a six-and-a-half year deal at Stamford Bridge.
Personal terms agreed
Chelsea have agreed a €38million (£33.6million) deal to sign Badiashile, football.london understands.
The deal will see the 21-year-old sign a six-and-a-half year deal at Stamford Bridge. He is currently in London to undergo his medical ahead of completing the move to London.
Medical scheduled
Chelsea have reached an agreement with AS Monaco to sign defender Benoit Badiashile, according to The Athletic.
The deal for the 21-year-old is worth in the region of €37-38million (£32.8m-£33.7m). Chelsea have agreed personal terms with Badiashile on long-term contract and his medical is in process of being scheduled.
Badiashile has been left out of Monaco's matchday squad to face Stade Brestois ahead of a move to Stamford Bridge.
Clement warning
Chelsea aren't the only team that have asked about Badiashile according to Monaco manager Phillepe Clement. He said: "I don't think there is only one club that has approached Benoit Badiashile.
"It's not just Chelsea. There has been a lot of interest in several of our players over the past six months. This is also the case with Benoit."
It has been reported in France that Barcelona and Manchester United are both interested in the defender but aren't willing to push a deal in January - instead hoping that he would delay making a choice until the summer.
Deal progressing to 'final stages'
Badiashile's proposed transfer to Chelsea looks to be a matter of when not if after Chelsea moved swiftly to make a defensive acquisition, despite their long-term interest in Josko Gvardiol.
After Chelsea tabled a bid in the region of €35million-€40million (£30.7million-£35.1million), Fabrizio Romano has now detailed that negotiations are reaching their final stages with an "expectation" the deal will be completed "soon".
Long-term deal
Chelsea appear to be moving extremely quickly with this one.
Fabrizio Romano has now revealed that talks are even more advanced on the player's side and that he is open to joining and could be done as soon as January. A long-term deal is also said to have been discussed.
Negotiations are progressing to final stages for Benoit Badiashile to join Chelsea, expectation is for the deal to be completed soon for €35/40million (£30.7m-£35.1m) fee.
There’s an agreement in principle on personal terms with Badiashile, he’s now keen on the move as reported yesterday.
Chelsea 'confident' on securing Badiashile deal
Chelsea are growing increasingly confident of completing a transfer deal for Monaco defender Benoit Badiashile, according to The Metro.
Chelsea have already opened talks with Monaco over a deal for Badiashile, who made his international debut for France earlier this year. While there is no agreement between Chelsea and Monaco, it is claimed that Stamford Bridge chiefs now expect to complete a deal for the Frenchman worth £30million.
Benoit Badiashile emerges as main transfer target
Chelsea are working to sign a new left-sided centre-back and Monaco’s Benoit Badiashile is the leading candidate.
The pursuit of a new recruit for this position has been ongoing since the last window, when Chelsea had personal terms in place with RB Leipzig’s Josko Gvardiol but were unable to strike a club-to-club deal on the transfer fee, according to The Athletic.
Gvardiol's rising value has forced Chelsea to broaden the search and consider alternative options for January or next summer. Those include Evan N’Dicka — set to be available as a free agent when his contract at Eintracht Frankfurt expires on June 30 — and Bayer Leverkusen defender Piero Hincapie.
Yet Badiashile has emerged as the priority at present and Chelsea are talking to Monaco about recruiting the France international. While currently there is no agreement between the Premier League side and their Ligue 1 counterparts, multiple sources believe he will join in the weeks ahead for around €35million (£30million).
Tottenham interested in Benoit Badiashile
As reported earlier this year by football.london, Tottenham Hotspur have scouted Monaco defender Benoit Badiashile, while the French club like Spurs star Davinson Sanchez.
Alessandro Bastoni was Conte’s preferred option, but the Italian had no interest in leaving Inter Milan earlier in the summer. Josko Gvardiol is another player Tottenham and Chelsea admire, but RB Leipzig weren’t prepared to sell him in the window.
