Benni McCarthy makes Manchester United admission after joining Erik ten Hag's team

Manchester United's new first team coach Benni McCarthy has spoken for the first time since he joined the club as a first team coach.

On Saturday it was announced that the lifelong United fan would be joining Erik ten Hag and his backroom staff for the forthcoming season. McCarthy will offer particular insight to the forwards at United having scored goals for the likes of Ajax, Porto and Blackburn Rovers.

Speaking to MUTV before United's pre-season friendly with Rayo Vallecano, McCarthy explained how special it is to join the Reds. He said: "I am delighted to be here and I hope to make a real difference to United this season.
