Benjamin Pavard reveals he considered leaving Bayern Munich amid interest from Chelsea and Manchester United

Benjamin Pavard has revealed he considered leaving Bayern Munich this summer, before ultimately opting to stay with the Bundesliga giants.

The Frenchman joined the club three years ago, winning three league titles and a Champions League since then in an incredibly successful spell.

There were suggestions during the transfer window that Pavard could move on, as he entered the final two years of his contract, with Manchester United among the clubs linked with the 26-year-old as Erik ten Hag looked to bring a right-back to Old Trafford.

In an interview with Telefoot, Pavard confirmed that discussions were held with other clubs in the summer and while he was persuaded to stay by Julian Nagelsman, the Bayern star did not rule out a move in the future.

“I questioned myself, I had calls from different clubs with my agent,” Pavard said.

“Afterwards, I had the Bayern coach with whom we spoke and with whom we have a good relationship. He made me understand that I was in his plans, that I was important for the team.

“Maybe one day I will go to one of these clubs, you never know what the future holds. I’m still a year at Bayern Munich. Afterwards, we have time to project ourselves.”

While Pavard did not confirm the clubs that were in contact, Telefoot have reported that Man United, Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain, Atletico Madrid and Juventus were those keen on a move for the defender.
