BENGALURU: A woman sued a garment and furnishing retail chain after one of the two wooden chairs she purchased from them had borer infestation. A consumer court recently ordered the company to give her a full refund for both the chairs and take them back, apart from paying her a compensation of Rs 15,000.
On March 31, 2019, Vishakha Vaidya, 44, of HSR Layout purchased furniture from Fabindia for her home. A few months later, she spotted a lot of dust on the furniture and also borer infestation in the wooden chairs. Vaidya contacted Fabindia via email on February, 24, 2020 and highlighted the problem.
