BENGALURU: Barely over a month after they were fixed, cobblestones on Church Street are chipping off yet again, putting the spotlight on poor quality of repair work executed by the project department of Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP).
It may be recalled that the 900-metre stretch was relaid in 2017-18 at a cost of Rs 17 crore. The road was paved using five lakh hand-laid cobblestones under TenderSURE and the plan for the same was spearheaded by the Directorate of Urban Land Transport (DULT). After work completion, the European-style road was dubbed as a model for others to follow.
