It turns out the Cincinnati Bengals will see San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy after all.
Saturday, the 49ers announced Purdy had cleared concussion protocol and won’t have an injury designation for Sunday’s game, meaning he’s good to start against the Bengals.
That comes as a bit of a surprise, considering Purdy wasn’t added to the injury report as in concussion protocol until Wednesday afternoon — two days after San Francisco’s Monday night game.
Yet Purdy is good to go and barring yet another twist of a surprise, he’ll start against the Bengals. He’s thrown 11 touchdowns and three interceptions this year on a 67.9 completion percentage.
Sam Darnold was set to get the nod as starter against the Bengals if Purdy couldn’t go.
