Bengals news: Trey Hendrickson, Tee Higgins injury updates and more

The Cincinnati Bengals news will fly fast and furious this week, given the quick nature of the turnaround to a primetime Thursday game.

With the fallout from a loss to the Houston Texans on Sunday and previewing the Thursday night game against the Baltimore Ravens, it could be tough for fans to keep pace.

This is especially the case with the Bengals dealing with notable playoff and divisional standing ramifications and injuries to the likes of Tee Higgins and Trey Hendrickson as the team preps before hitting the road.

Here’s a look at the must-know Bengals news, notes and quotes for November 14.

Zac Taylor updates Trey Hendrickson, Tee Higgins injuries -- Bengals Wire

Zac Taylor went his usual “we’ll see” approach to injuries when talking about Higgins and Hendrickson. But the underlying point was simple — it’s really, really hard for either guy to turn around and play on a short week like this.

Hendrickson's injury is official -- Bengals Wire

After rumblings of an MRI, reporters were able to confirm that Hendrickson indeed suffered a hyperextended knee. No word on how much time he’ll miss, but it certainly is one of the better outcomes compared to how bad it looked.

Higgins likely out -- Bengals Wire

Another report all but confirming that Higgins won’t play against the Ravens. That’s not all too surprising — kickoff will occur roughly one week after he suffered a hamstring injury in practice.

Some of the biggest lessons we learned from the snap counts, including some head-scratching usage for defensive ends and in the secondary.

Bengals defenders were quick to hit up defensive coordinator Lou Anarumo after the loss with ideas about how things could be improved.

Injury report

The NFL requires an injury report, so despite no practice, the Bengals provided an estimated report.

C.J. Stroud praises Cam Taylor-Britt -- Bengals.com

Here’s a fun one — Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud showed nothing but love to Cam Taylor-Britt after the game after CTB picked him off: “Cam made a hell of a play. I’ve been playing against him since college and have a lot of respect for that guy. He’s really smart. We ran that play the drive before for a big completion. He told me too, ‘I knew it was coming.’ He undercut it, the defensive end played up field so I had to step up in the pocket. I didn’t want to take a sack. I tried to lay it over (Taylor-Britt), and he looked up right when I threw it and he picked it. It was a heck of a play.”

Sheldon Rankins praises Burrow -- Bengals.com

More praise from an opponent, with one lineman showing how others in the league view Joe Burrow: “One thing that’s underrated about him is his ability to run, and his ability to use his speed. We knew coming out that it was going to be on us to continue our gap integrity, because if you give him a lane to slip out — you saw on that one run he had. Even on the touchdown where he gets out, and is able to make the throw downfield. He’s able to do some great things with his legs, so we knew it was going to be on us to come up with some big plays, continue our gap integrity, and continue to collapse everything around him.”
