Bengals’ Jonah Williams trade could happen during draft soon

If the Cincinnati Bengals are going to trade offensive tackle Jonah Williams, Friday might just be the most likely time.

According to Pro Football Networks’ Tony Pauline, several teams have been sniffing around the idea before Round 2 started.

Per that writeup, Jacksonville was a team interested in it before drafting Anton Harrison.

Williams reportedly put in a trade request after getting shifted to right tackle in the wake of Orlando Brown Jr.’s arrival in free agency.

Cincinnati’s ability to draft another right tackle, La’el Collins’ encouraging recovery from an injury, the presence of Jackson Carman and the signing of Cody Ford give the team some leeway to make a Williams trade happen.

This has always looked like a situation that could help the Bengals move around in a round, if not just pick up an additional mid-round pick. Trading Williams would net the Bengals trade compensation and free $12.6 million off the books, so it’s likely to happen if they find the right partner.

An offer for Bengals fans
