If Ja’Marr Chase isn’t suiting up for the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 16 against the Pittsburgh Steelers, the team isn’t in any rush to announce it.
Unlike the Steelers already declaring a star defender out and making a quarterback change, Bengals head coach Zac Taylor declined to say anything of the sort about Chase.
Instead, Taylor said he’s not ruling Chase out and that “we’ll see as the week goes,” according to Paul Dehner Jr. of The Athletic.
This comes after a report the day prior said Chase will miss the game against the Steelers and potentially more time after that.
Given the severity of this particular shoulder issue is tough to get a read on and can potentially change quickly, it’s no surprise the Bengals aren’t ruling out Chase as the first practice of the week commences.
Chase will likely remain the most compelling thing to watch about the Bengals this week before kickoff, barring an official announcement one way or the other in the coming days.
