The Cincinnati Bengals did something funny on the first injury report of the week before the team’s game against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
There, the team listed quarterback Jake Browning as a full participant in practice — citing a “right wrist” injury.
Normally, this might not be such a big deal. But the Bengals are currently under investigation by the NFL related to Joe Burrow’s wrist injury. The team has submitted droves of evidence in an attempt to clear themselves of any wrongdoing, but the internet has been ablaze with theories about the how and why surrounding Burrow’s injury.
So, the designation is a funny one and comes from a team that had some fun trolling every now and then last year over the coin-flip drama, too.
As for the report itself, Tee Higgins has already said the plan is for him to play on Monday. These are the rest of the designations from Thursday:
- CB Chidobe Awuzie (DNP)
- DE Trey Hendrickson (DNP)
- LB Akeem Davis-Gaither (LP)
- WR Tee Higgins (LP)
- DT B.J. Hill (LP)
- DE Sam Hubbard (LP)
- OT D’Ante Smith (LP)
- CB Cam Taylor-Britt (LP)
- QB Jake Browning (FP)
- TE Tanner Hudson (FP)
- TE Drew Sample (FP)
- LB Logan Wilson (FP)
As for the two DNPs, Hendrickson got a rest day and Awuzie was sick.
