Bella Hadid has deleted her Balenciaga Instagram post after the fashion house apologised for their bondage-themed campaign which featured a child.
The luxury fashion brand have released a statement regarding the photoshoot that had a child holding a teddy bear dressed in a BDSM outfit.
The 26-year-old supermodel took to her Instagram page to share a series of snaps from the campaign with her 56.4million followers before quickly deleting it.
On Wednesday, Balenciaga seemed to put the blame on Italian photographer Gabriele Galimberti for the controversial campaign.
The statement read: "We sincerely apologize for any offense our holiday campaign may have caused. Our plush bear bags should not have been featured with children in this campaign. We have immediately removed the campaign from all platforms.
"We apologize for displaying unsettling documents in our campaign. We take this matter very seriously and are taking legal action against the parties responsible for creating the set and including unapproved items for our Spring 23 campaign photoshoot.
"We strongly condemn abuse of children in any form. We stand for children safety and well-being."
A Twitter user found that one of the photos in the shoot contained an excerpt from the 2008 US Supreme Court opinion in United States v. Williams, which upheld part of a federal child pornography law, which Twitter's own fact-checkers confirmed.
The ruling determined that offering or requesting to transfer, sell, deliver, or trade child pornography did not violate the First Amendment to the United States Constitution, even if a person charged under the code did not in fact possess child pornography with which to trade.
The late Justice Antonin Scalia noted specifically that offers to engage in illegal transactions are categorically excluded from First Amendment protection.
Photographer Galimberti promoted the photos as part of his project series Toy Stories.
On his website he wrote: "For over two years, I visited more than 50 countries and created colorful images of boys and girls in their homes and neighborhoods with their most prized possessions: their toys.
"From Texas to India, Malawi to China, Iceland, Morocco, and Fiji, I recorded the spontaneous and natural joy that unites kids despite their diverse backgrounds. Whether the child owns a veritable fleet of miniature cars or a single stuffed monkey, the pride that they have is moving, funny, and thought provoking."
In the photoshoot that Bella posted before she deleted it, she wore a $10K office ensemble from Balenciaga's new spring collection.
She styled her hair differently through the campaign, sometimes showing off her natural brunette locks as well as wearing a platinum blonde wig.
