NEW DELHI: The Euro 2024 qualifier match between Belgium and Sweden was halted at halftime and later called off due to the tragic shooting incident that claimed the lives of two Swedes in Brussels earlier on Monday, according to UEFA.
In responseto the situation, Belgium escalated its terror alert to the highest level. This precautionary measure was taken after a video surfaced on social media in which an individual claimed responsibility for the attack, asserting affiliation with the Islamic State.
