Bel Powley tells The One Show she was scared she would get Jennifer Aniston's name wrong

Actress Bel Powley revealed to viewers of The One Show show how she was "star-struck" when working alongside Friends star Jennifer Aniston and admitted she was scared she would get her name wrong.

Bel works alongside Jennifer Aniston on the American TV drama The Morning Show. The 30-year-old British actress spilled the beans as a guest on the sofa of this evening's show, presented by Alex Jones and Jermaine Jenas.

Powley was invited onto The One Show sofa to talk about her latest role as Birdy in the BBC series All That I Know About Love, adapted from author Dolly Alderton's memoir on dating and heartache as a young woman. But it was her role in The Morning Show, which also featured Hollywood star Reese Witherspoon, that Alex Jones was eager to grill her about.

"I love that show," declared the host. "What was it like working with Jeniffer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon?" Powley replied: "It was absolutely incredible. I mean, they are literally icons aren't they. I was definitely really nervous working with them - especially Jennifer because, you know, she's Rachel from Friends.

"I grew up with her on my TV screen, so I think she's the only person I've ever met who I was actually fully star-struck by," she admitted. "I have to say, for the first three months working with her I was just too scared to speak - I was definitely too scared I was going to call her Rachel."

Bel's film and TV credits include playing Princess Margaret in A Royal Night Out (2015), which saw her nominated for the best newcomer gong at the British Independent Film Awards. She also starred in the coming-of-age drama The Diary of a Teenage Girl, a role that earned her the Trophee Chopard prize at the Canne Film Festival.

Powley was joined on the sofa for this evening's show by fellow actor, and musician, Max Beesley, whose claims to fame include recording with soul legends George Benson, Earth Wind and Fire and Stevie Wonder before turning his attention to acting. The 51-year-old is currently playing the role of DCI Paul Haynes in Sky's sci-fi horror drama The Midwich Cuckoos.

This evening's show also saw newsreader Huw Edwards give viewers a sneak preview of the new BBC news studios, where the news at 6 and 10 will now be aired from. All seven episodes of All That I Know About Love are available to watch on the BBC iPlayer. The Midwich Cuckoos is on Sky Max.
