NEW DELHI: Mahipal Lomror offered Royal Challengers Bengaluru two enticing alternatives on a warm Monday night: a "Impact Player" who can steal the match from the opposition and a possible replacement for their chosen finisher, Dinesh Karthik, who is competing in his final IPL season.

As an Impact substitute, Lomror took Yash Dayal's place during the 177-run chase. He scored 17 runs in eight balls and helped Karthik (28, 10b) score 47 runs in 22 balls, leading RCB to a four-wicket victory over Punjab Kings.
