One thing that’s become clear through the first days of free agency is that the Chicago Bears roster is going to look a lot different in 2022.
But two players aren’t going anywhere are quarterback Justin Fields and wide receiver Darnell Mooney, who could be two stars in the making for Chicago.
Fields and Mooney have been determined to strengthen their connection on the field this offseason, even as early as the day after the end of the 2021 season. Fields and Mooney continue to work on their connection during the offseason, as they’re currently training together in Atlanta.

There’s a lot of excitement surrounding the pairing of Fields and Mooney heading into the 2022 season. And for good reason. They’re two young players with a ton of potential.
But wide receiver does remain a pressing need for Chicago this offseason. Mooney is the only reliable receiver currently under contract in 2022. Look for the Bears to add more weapons for Fields. But it’s the Fields-Mooney connection that figures to be an exciting one for the Bears in 2022.
