The Chicago Bears are in the thick of the pre-draft process, where they’re conducting top 30 visits with some of the nation’s top prospects.
The Bears have a top 30 visit scheduled with Virginia wide receiver Dontayvion Wicks, according to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero. Wicks will meet with Chicago on Thursday after visiting with the Green Bay Packers on Wednesday.
Wicks had an impressive 2021 season, where he had 57 catches for 1,203 yards and nine touchdowns in 12 games. He set the program’s single season record for receiving yards. But Wick is coming off a disappointing 2022 campaign, where he 30 catches for 430 yards and two touchdowns in eight games.

Wide receiver isn’t a pressing need after an offseason where general manager Ryan Poles acquired DJ Moore in a trade of the No. 1 pick. Moore joins a receiving corp that also includes Darnell Mooney and Chase Claypool, who was acquired via trade last year.
Still, it’s never a bad thing to add more weapons for your young quarterback Justin Fields. Wicks projects as a Day 2-3 pick.
