The rate of 2025 NFL Draft picks being dealt is flowing almost daily as teams approach the NFL roster cutdown deadline. One of the latest involves the Chicago Bears and Cleveland Browns swapping some 2025 picks.
The trade
Cleveland trades defensive tackle Chris Williams and a seventh-round pick in 2025 to the Bears. Chicago sends back a sixth-round pick in 2025.
Williams was unlikely to make the Browns deep defensive tackle rotation. He has a better shot in Chicago, which lacks his style of veteran depth on the defensive interior.
That sixth-rounder from Chicago is not the Bears’ own pick, however. Chicago sent Cleveland the sixth-round pick in 2025 the Bears acquired from Miami for wideout Chase Claypool last year. Claypool recently got released by the Dolphins.
