Jim Gordon, who played with The Beach Boys, George Harrison and Eric Clapton has died at the age of 77.
Gordon made his name a famed session drummer before being diagnosed with schizophrenia and going to prison for killing his own mother.
He was jailed for life in 1983 and was still serving his sentence at the California Medical Facility in Vacaville when he died on Monday March 14.
The official cause of death is due to be determined by the Solano County coroner, but it is believed he died from natural causes.
