Fans of the popular BBC programme, The One Show, said they watched on in discomfort as presenter Alex Jones interviewed her ex-partner. The well-knon show often invites guests on to help tackle current affairs and other issues in the UK.
And on last night's show (Tuesday, July 4), Alex interviewed her ex partner, Steve Jones, the Channel 4 Formula One presenter in front of millions of regular watchers. The topics discussed ranged from the upcoming British Grand Prix at Silverstone, but viewers couldn't help commenting on the history between the pair, reports Birmingham Live.
Twitter user Vicky B typed: "Didn't Alex and Steve date and he stole a job from her? #TheOneShow." Erin commented: " #theoneshow interviewing Kate Moss before celebrity writer Steve Jones, she’d probably only get published now if she was Kate Moss ffs enough publishers! He’s not even famous! @PenguinUKBooks "

The Welsh broadcasters were in a relationship from 1999 to 2002 when they both worked on Channel 4 show Rise. Alex was the show’s Entertainment Correspondent – and says the pair split after Steve pretended she was ill so he could interview Angelina Jolie himself.
Alex told Dish podcast hosts Nick Grimshaw and Michelin-starred chef Angela Hartnett all about the break-up back in March of this year. Alex explained: : “Normally [Rise] would call in the morning and ask to come and do an interview or junket."
“I was staying in his [Steve’s] flat at the time when I was working in London and he picked up the landline and said ‘Al’s not here. She’s not feeling well, she’s had to go back to Cardiff’ – I was in Topshop," she said. “So he did the interview,” Alex added.
Alex previously dished on Angela Scanlon's podcast, saying: “So I got back to the flat and was like, where is he? Hours went past, nobody answering their phones. In the end I thought, right I’m going to drive back to Cardiff because I don’t know where you are, you’ve probably gone to the pub.
“Then the production company called and they were like, ‘We’ve got a bit of a situation. Tomorrow morning your boyfriend is going to the premiere with Angelina Jolie and it would be really funny if you came on the line, live on the show and surprise him and say you know exactly what he’s been up to.
“So I said yes. On live telly I’m like, ‘You lied to me, where have you been?’ So yeah, not surprisingly, we split up on live telly!”
