A gripping new thriller will land on BBC One and BBC iPlayer on Sunday, July 17. The Control Room tells the story of Gabe, an ordinary man who works as an emergency call handler for the Strathclyde Ambulance Service in Glasgow, whose "world is turned upside down when he receives a desperate life-and-death call from a woman who appears to know him."
Filmed and set in Scotland, the three-part series is written by Bafta and RTS Award-winning writer Nick Leather. Describing The Control Room, Nick explained: "The Control Room is about Gabe, a call handler in an ambulance control room and an everyday hero. Every few minutes, he deals with matters of life and death. And then one day, he takes one call and realises that the life on the line is actually his own."
The show has a star-studded cast list including Iain De Caestecker, known for his role as Leo Fitz in Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D, and Joanna Vanderham, who viewers will recognise from Dancing On The Edge. My Mad Fat Diary's Sharon Rooney and Game of Thrones star Daniel Portman, who plays Podrick Payne in the HBO series, also star.

The Control Room filming locations
Filming took place in Glasgow last year. Speaking about what to expect, actor Sharon Rooney said: "You are in for a treat. It's stylish and set in contemporary Glasgow with an amazing cast.
"You'll need snacks, a blanket, to shut the curtains and turn your phone off to get completely engrossed in this fantastic story. You might think you know where it’s going but you’re wrong. It starts in 1999, just before the millennium, and goes all the way to 2021. Everything that happened along the way is important and so many twists and turns. It's a unique thriller."
