BBC The Apprentice in Wales: The pronunciation of famous Welsh mountain that will have you rolling your eyes

The Apprentice came to Wales this week and the show did not disappoint, forcing viewers to hide behind cushions as the two teams of hopefuls attempted to sell a Welsh trip to unsuspecting tourists.

And while bickering contestants woefully bartered with North Wales' finest tourist destinations, like Zip World and the Welsh Highland Heritage Railway, it was the pronunciation of two of the area's iconic mountains (by a watercolour painting expert) that caused most confusion.

Moelwyn Mawr and Bach are part of the Moelwynion mountain range near the Vale of Ffestiniog.

But when it came to pronouncing their names the so-called expert was less than convincing himself trying to translate the names phonetically.

We've no idea where Mile Wyn Maw-wuh or Mile Wyn Bak are but they're certainly not in Snowdonia.

Top marks though to all the contestants for giving it a go.

And hats off to the BBC for giving the Welsh language a platform.

But maybe the expert could do with some extra lessons himself.
