BBC Strictly It Takes Two viewers spot additional interviewee as Rylan has 'awkward' chat with Helen Skelton and Gorka Marquez

It Takes Two viewers didn't know what was going on as they spotted an additional 'interviewee' during Rylan Clark's latest interview. The presenter was back at the helm of the Strictly Come Dancing spin-off show on Monday (December 5).

It is the first time viewers have been able to get a dose of Strictly following its move to last Friday and Saturday night due to the football. And Rylan had lots to get through and instead of kicking off with a chat with the competition's latest eliminated couple, he headed straight to the farm.

Yes, your read that right. Via the powers of video link, the show's host was able to chat to Helen Skelton and Gorka Marquez live from Cannon Hall Farm in South Yorkshire where Helen was getting ready for her Channel 5 show, Winter on the Farm.

As Rylan began to welcome the pair onto the show following their spectacular Musicals Week routine, the 33-year-old explained they'd be joining him from a barn in Yorkshire before the camera showed the pair sat on a hay bale with their checked shirts and with horses behind them.

Rylan then also explained to viewers: "Now before we chat we should let viewers at home know as well that because of some technical issues there is a three-second delay so wish us luck – this is television!" But the technical problems did lead to a number of awkward silences which didn't get past viewers watching the show at home.

One wrote: "I love that technology exists to talk to astronauts in space, but getting a video feed from Helen's farm without technical issues and a massive delay is impossible #ItTakesTwo." Another asked: "Is anyone else finding this interview really awkward with all these silences?"

But there was also another distraction when a horse got in on the It Takes Two action. As Gorka and Helen began opening up about their routines this week, which will see the pair take on an Argentine Tango, fans were quickly flocking to social media to comment including @rozlawswho tweeted: "Loving the photobombing horse getting in on the act on #ItTakesTwo. Enjoying its moment of fame."

Helen had earlier chimed in on their change of interview location and on the delay, saying: "Listen the three-second delay is the least of your problems you’ve got horses, cows and bulls that could break free at any second."
