BBC Strictly host Tess Daly shares rare backstage snaps as she prepares for showtime with a spray tan

Strictly Come Dancing host Tess Daly shared a rare glimpse backstage as she prepared for Saturday night showtime with a spray tan. The 53-year-old presenter from Stockport posted snaps from behind-the-scenes as prepared to step back in front of the cameras for the BBC dance show.

Strictly is known for its sequins, sparkle and spray tan, and the stunning-mum-of-two beamed a smile as she prepared for her own bronzing session. "I take strictly prep very seriously…" she wrote on her Instagram as she posed in front of the tanning tent in a blue dressing gown and stick-on slippers to prevent those pesky mucky marks on the bottom of the feet.

To protect her bouncy blonde tresses she pulled them back into a hairnet. Tess, who is known for her array of glam outfits on the long-running contest, gave two thumbs-up and pointed out the gold embossed 'Tess' on the back of her plush gown.

Dottymares joked: "Best look of the show so far." tamasinhopkins laughed: "At first I thought this said Less, and that was a hell no! More more more! Saturday night is the happiest night of our week, my seven year old son now sings the theme tune wherever he goes and is always excited to see your outfits."

Last Sunday Tess also shared an insight into family life as she hit the shops with her husband Vernon Kay, 48. Tess looked stunning as she stepped out in a crushed velvet blue suit and trainers with oversized sunglasses and a large cream bag.

Her This Morning and BBC Radio 2 presenter hubby also looked stylish in a monochrome shirt and jeans with a camel-coloured jacket. "Sunday strolls with this one (can’t you tell how much he loves shopping)" she quipped with a love-heart eyes emoji.

The pair were all smiles as they strolled together, followed by another picture of Vernon looking a tad fed-up but amused as he waited for her in a chair. twiggy_77 said: "Lovely couple. He is like most men they hate shopping unless it is for them then sometimes they are not as grumpy."

kidsonesies laughed: "Haha, this is exactly how my husband usually looks too. Least he had a nice chair to sit in! x" And expingles warned: "Never take a man with you when shopping."
