Hamza Yassin had Strictly Come Dancing fans' votes before he even performed his first routine in the semi-final due to one specific detail. The wildlife cameraman was back in the ballroom as he went up against Molly Rainford, Helen Skelton, Fleur East and Will Mellor for a place in the 2022 final.
All the couples have had to perform two routines in Sunday night's show (December 11), which was moved due to the World Cup from its usual primetime Saturday night slot. During his first routine of the night, Hamza performed a Charleston to Pencil Full of Lead by Paolo Nutini with pro dancer Jowita Przystał.
The audience and judges were on their feet after the 32-year-old, who was sporting a tartan number, completed his Scottish-themed dance and he ended up scoring 39.

Craig Revel Horwood said Hamza's lifts were "absolutely crazy spectacular" and "full of detail". The usual tough judge added: "You were very brave darling wearing a kilt in a Charleston."
Motsi Mabuse. meanwhile, said the dance was "exceptional", while head judge Shirley Ballas said: "You make everything look so light airy, it can be powerful but there is never a heavy stuck feeling, I loved it." Anton Du Beke then added: "Listen, you get to the semi-finals of Strictly, you’ve got two dances, you better bring something, and you brought everything – that was amazing."
But before Hamza had even performed a move, Strictly viewers had him down for all their votes due to his attire. @LittleMissMon tweeted: "Hamza + Kilt = maximum votes #Strictly." @JenHam215 shared: "Hamza in a kilt has just won Strictly for me. #StrictlyComeDancing2022." @vickisud76 wrote: "Hamza in a kilt. It’s already a 10 from me #strictly."
@DeniseYNWAGGTTH posted: "OMFG HE'S WEARING A KILT #Hamza got my vote and he's not even danced yet #StrictlyComeDancing2022 #Strictly." @RyanTheSoapking added: "Hamza in a kilt will always be ICONIC!!!!! #Strictly."
But some spotted a few issues with the exposing outfit choice. @GameshowsUK tweeted: "Love Hamza's enthusiasm on #strictly but the camera angle was unfortunate given the initial shots under the kilt." @chaffy2402 posted: "Them there camera angles on Hamza’s kilt were a choice #Strictly." @Turacos_mynahs added: "Hamza needs to learn the basics of wearing a kilt... keep your legs shut if you are seated #strictly."
