BBC Strictly Come Dancing fans distracted by Claudia Winkleman appearance in semi-final and not because of her sparkling dress

Strictly Come Dancing fans couldn't help but look at Claudia Winkelman differently as she made her latest TV appearance. The presenter joined co-host Tess Daly as the semi-final of the BBC One dance contest unfolded on Sunday night (December 11).

Claudia added a touch of sparkle to her look for the penultimate live show of the 2022 series. The 50-year-old went for a glittering off-the-shoulder number which boasted a thigh-high split showing off her tanned pins for the occasion.

Tess, meanwhile, followed Claudia's style with her own off-the-shoulder number. However, she went for a more eye-catching choice opting for a hot pink design. And Strictly fans were impressed by both of their looks for the evening.

@KirstyAPalmer tweeted: "Rare double dress excellence from Tess & Claude tonight #Strictly." @ClaireCopperman said: "Oooh, both Tess and Claudia in off-the-shoulder numbers. Rather lovely. #Strictly." @SandyHylton1 echoed: "Tess and Claudia giving excellent dresses #Strictly." @Shelley_Bxx added: "Claudia ready for Christmas Tess going on holiday. #Dresses #strictly."

However, other Strictly fans couldn't help but be distracted by Claudia for a different reason. Viewers have been hooked on her new show, The Traitors, as the first three episodes aired on the BBC earlier this week. The reality/challenge series is in 12 parts and plays on the contestant's psychology.

The 22 contestants must decide who they can trust while residing in a grand Scottish castle. A small group of the participants are secretly selected by Claudia to be ‘traitors’, after which the remaining ‘faithfuls’ get eliminated by being ‘murdered’ by the traitors. Meanwhile, the traitors can be ‘banished’ if they’re successfully outed as a traitor by a faithful. And winner could walk away with £120,000.

Taking to Twitter during the latest episode of Strictly, @rhyssuxx tweeted: "Can’t look at Claudia now without thinking I’m gonna get murdered #strictly #thetraitors." @tennis_brand replied: "If Claudia murdered me in that dress, that would be alright." @philiplickley said: "Claudia is on fire tonight, but I'm still waiting for one of the contestants to be murdered by the traitors #Strictly."

@kthrynblck wrote: "It's really weird watching @ClaudiaWinkle on #Strictly now when I keep thinking she's gonna start talking about faithfuls and traitors, or explain how shields work for murders but not banishments over and over again. #TheTraitors." @williamstafford shared: "I want Traitors Claudia #Strictly." @WelshGasDoc added: "In the next series @ClaudiaWinkle should tell the professional dancers that three of them are traitors #Strictly."
