The BBC has apologised for saying the redacted version of the Sue Gray report had been published today.
It made the mistaken announcement during the Nicky Campbell show on BBC Radio 5 Live.
But the presenter was forced to issue an apology to listeners at around 9.40am after reporting a 'breaking news' snap.
He said: "We're talking about levelling up and I'm going to level with you. Regarding that Sue Gray snap, there isn't a new version of that report due."
He added: "Don't panic, as we were, the snap was wrong so huge apologies for that."
In her “update” on Monday, Sue Gray, the senior official who has been investigating the allegations, disclosed there were 12 events between 2020 and 2021 that are currently being investigated by the police.
She was unable to publish her full findings because of the police inquiries.
