Platinum Party at the Palace viewers were confused by Rod Stewart's performance.
The 77-year-old was part of the line-up on tonight's BBC broadcast. The event also featured performances from acts such as Craig David and Sam Ryder as the nation paid tribute to Queen Elizabeth II as she celebrates 70 years on the throne.
The rock star performed a medley of his hits at the event Buckingham Palace. Rod thrilled the audience as he finished his performance with a rendition of Sweet Caroline.

The watching royals were seen enjoying the routine as Prince George sung along to the Neil Diamond classic. However, viewers following the show on Twitter were confused why Rod performed a cover when he has such a strong back catalogue of his own songs.
