Young singers from across the North East will take to the stage this July for a BBC Proms concert which will be broadcast live from Sage Gateshead.
Voices of the River's Edge - a new choir formed by 100 young people - will be taking part in a Folk Connections concert with Royal Northern Sinfonia as part of the world's biggest classical music festival. The BBC Proms, typically associated with the Royal Albert Hall in London, is heading north as part of its summer season and Gateshead will be in the spotlight on July 23.
The July to September festival of concerts is being broadcast live on BBC Three, with many performances also being televised. All Proms concerts also will be available on BBC Sounds.
