Sally Nugent couldn't resist firing a cheeky jibe towards her co-star Carol Kirkwood on Tuesday morning.
The pair were chatting on BBC Breakfast as Scots meteorologist Carol joined Sally and co-host Jon Kay as they spoke about new research promoting the health benefits of napping. After confessing she isn't a fan of taking naps, Sally swiftly ordered Carol off-air and told her to go for a snooze.
The trio were discussing the new study done by University College London that suggested that napping could be beneficial for brain health. "I tried to resist it," Jon laughed.
While Sally was all for the daytime siestas, quipping: "Gotta nap. It does work, doesn't it?" Carol said she refuses to snooze before bedtime telling her co-stars that, despite her early starts, she "resists" the activity.
Sally branded Carol a "rebel", before the Scots broadcaster replied: "I don't nap, it makes me feel sick, but now I'm thinking 'maybe that's what's gone wrong'! If it makes you look younger."
The BBC presenter told Carol: "I think you need to go and have a nap! Carol, maybe go and have a little nap and see how you feel after."
She added: "It's great having you here" and told Jon: "Isn't it great, having Carol here?" Jon confirmed: "Love it."
