The BBC Breakfast show was halted as weather star Carol Kirkwood delivered a major career announcement. After delivering the forecast on the show, Carol cut back to Jon Kay and Nina Warhurst - before revealing that she is going to be writing a book.
Jon said: "It is indeed, Carol. And Nina. We are going to be talking about - people might be reading books over the bank holiday... You might be writing a book, are you?"
Carol replied: "I am, yes. My third one." Carol giggled as Jon said: "Are you writing through the weekend? Are you still writing?"
Carol replied: "Yes." Nina said: "Are you reading a book at the moment Carol? What are you reading?" The meteorologist replied: "More or less," after Nina quizzed her on whether she "always had a book on the go.
Carol explained: "I have just finished one. I was reading a trilogy by Heather Norris which is really good. The last one was called Three Sisters. A very good book - I'd recommend it."
Carol has written The Hotel on the Riviera, which was released last year, and Under a Greek Moon, Birmingham Live reports. Her third will be called Secrets of the Villa Amore. On her Amazon author page, it reads: "Carol Kirkwood is one of our most loved TV personalities.
"Millions of viewers and listeners know her for her weather reports on BBC Breakfast, Radio 2‘s Breakfast show, Wimbledon fortnight and for waltzing into our hearts on Strictly Come Dancing. Carol was inspired to write her first novel by her passion for travel and her love of Hollywood glamour.
"Off-screen, Carol can often be found ensconced in a book, singing, dancing and taking long walks in the countryside."
